JACK SELLS, CEO of SALES SEARCH AMERICA Jack is a certified personal consultant, formally trained at Management Recruiters International at MRI University. He has 18 years experience in executive recruiting, which includes a record of award winning performances. Before it was dissolved, he has been recognized by the Tennessee Association of Personnel Services as the #1 recruiter in Tennessee for 11 straight years. He has been considered in the top 1% of billers nationwide for the past 16 years. His experience lies within the medical and pharmaceutical industry. He has had success placing both sales reps and sales managers ranging from Fortune 50 companies to pre – IPO start ups.

He started his executive search career in 1993 as an account executive at Sales Consultants – Management Recruiters International of Brentwood, Tn. Where he earned TAPS and Sales Consultants of Brentwood’s 1993 Rookie-of-the-year award. He was SC of Brentwood’s #1 Top Producing recruiter in 1993, 1994, 1995, and 1996. As well as, TAPS top producing recruiter in 1994, 1995, and 1996. He earned TAPS “TOP-OF-THE- TOP” Award in 1994 and 1996 respectively.

In 1997, he purchased the Sales Consultants of Brentwood franchise from Management Recruiters International. Sales Consultants of Brentwood quickly became Tennessee’s top recruiting firm and was recognized by TAPS as the #1 firm in both 1997 and 1998. Jack continued to focus on recruiting continuing to be in the top 1% of billers nationwide. In both 1997 and 19998, he was awarded the TAPS #1 sales recruiter while also earning the prestigious TAPS “TOP-OF-THE-TOP”. The firm also produced the TAPS 1998 Rookie-of-the-year and had 3 employees rank in the top 10% of billers nationwide.

In 1999, with a true vision to break away from the traditional personnel agency and create a true executive search consulting firm, he dissolved Sales Consultants of Brentwood and independently formed Sales Search America. As CEO/President of Sales Search he has continued to be in the top 1% of billers nationwide from 1999 to present. Until TAPS was dissolved Sales Search was recognized as The State of Tennessee’s top recruiting firm in 1999, 2000, and 2001. He was recognized as the TAP #1 Top Producing sales recruiter in 1999, 2000, and 2001. Sales Search also produced the TAP Rookie-of-the-year in both 2000 and 2001.

Jack was born in Cookeville, Tennessee. He graduated from Putnam County High School where as a QB he earned Unanimous 1st team AP All-State honors in 1979.

He attended and graduated from The University of Tennessee with a B.A. in Political Science in 1985. He was a member of the University of Tennessee football team 1980 – 1984 where he played QB, DB, and Special Teams. He Lettered in both 1983 and 1984. He was a member of teams that played in The Garden State, Peach, Citrus, and Sun Bowls. He was an individual game captain in 1983 (Rutgers) and 1984 (Georgia Tech). In 1984 he was the Volunteer Award winner. He also earned game balls for plays made in 1983 (Alabama and Vanderbilt) and 1984 (Alabama and Georgia Tech).

In 1985, he attended graduate school at the University of Tennessee while he was a Graduate Assistant Coach coaching defensive backs for Coach Ron Zook. In 1985, the Volunteers won both the SEC Championship and 1986 Sugar Bowl Championship while finishing ranked #4 in the nation. In 1985 he assisted in coaching a DB who led the nation in interceptions with 10 and earned 1st team All-American. In 1986 he was the only Graduate Assistant to successfully recruit and sign a prospect. And – that signee later became captain of the 1990 SEC Championship team. In 1987 he was the only Graduate Assistant to be promoted to full-time status replacing a full-time assistant. He successfully recruited and signed more (7) prospects than any other full time staff member that included Phil Fulmer, David Cutcliffe, Kippy Brown, Ron Zook, Doug Mathews - respectfully.

In 1987, He coached defensive ends/outside linebackers at Middle Tennessee State University. Coaching one of his two starters to both 1st team All-OVC and 1st team D-1 AA All-American status. While at MTSU he was responsible for recruiting and signing 11 high school prospects.

In 1988, He coached the secondary at Kent State university where is secondary led the Mid-American conference in pass defense. While at KSU he coached one DB who led the nation in interceptions with 10 picks and 2-of-4 starters earned 1st team All-Mid American Conference honors.

From 1988 – 1991 he was an assistant Football Coach at The University of Tennessee where he coached Tight Ends and Offensive Special Teams. In 1990 he was placed in-charge of all Junior College recruiting. Tennessee earned SEC Championships in 1989 and 1990. In 1990 he coached the kick-off return team that was #1 in the nation. He coached on both the 1990 Cotton Bowl and 1991 Sugar Bowl Championship teams (respectively). From 1989 – 1990 he was responsible for recruiting and signing more prospects than any other Assistant Coach. Five of which started on the 1989 SEC Championship team and (10) of whom started on the 1990 SEC Championship team. He was responsible of recruiting 14 players that played more than one season in the NFL, several of which earned All-Pro honors, played in Super Bowls, and one who earned the NFL’s Rookie-of-the-year award. In 1990 he was responsible for recruiting the JC class that was ranked #1 in the nation.

Jack first outside sales job was working for Collins and Aikman, where he was responsible for selling a high-end floor covering product. In 1992 he was ranked #7 out of 84 Account Executives. He was 278% to quota, growing a territory from #78 to #7 in his first full year. He was also his territories first $1,000,000 and $2,000,000 per year seller while at C & A.
